Margarido Sustainable House Design in California

Nestled in the Oakland Hills on a double-sized
13,000 sq. ft. multi-layer lot overlooking San Francisco Bay, California. This Margarido House features extensive green building components such as eco-friendly Western Red Cedar siding, a planted green roof garden and deck, on-site rain and ground water reclamation, in-floor hydronic heating, and solar electric and solar thermal (hot water) systems. The house is 55 percent more energy efficient than California’s Title 24 energy standards.

This sustainable house design has over 4,600 sq. ft. on two levels, the new five-bedroom, five-bath masterpiece features designer finishes throughout, and an open floor plan that takes full advantage of the breathtaking views. The Margarido House has become a symbol of the movement in high design, high sustainability, collaboration and community. Over 6,000 designers, architects, builders and homeowners have toured the home to learn about sustainability and high design.

  1. First of all I want to say fantastic blog!
I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.
I've had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Appreciate it!
